Welcome

Madagascar is a world apart — vibrant, wild, and home to wildlife found nowhere else on Earth. At the same time, it is one of the poorest countries in the world, and many communities still struggle to access basic necessities like clean water.

At Melbo Foundation, we focus on small but meaningful projects: building solar-powered wells, supporting rural communities, and encouraging conservation. Each initiative helps local families access safer water, children enjoy healthier days, and communities grow a little stronger. With your support, these small efforts can reach a few more villages, one step at a time.

At this time, our work is focused on rural communities in western Madagascar.

District Menabe and Melaky

Providing Clean Water to West Coast Villages:
November 2021. Our project in the Menabe and Melaky districts has successfully provided sustainable access to clean water for local communities. Seven water supplies were constructed, each equipped with water storage and solar-powered pumping systems. Thanks to the support of the Embassy of Japan and our donors, these wells are now fully operational.

The improvements benefit approximately 6,000 inhabitants in the villages of Kirindy, Tanandava, Andadoany, and Bekopaka, ensuring safe drinking water for daily use.
